Paying it Forward

As a racer, Josh realizes his influence.  “I really enjoy being in the spotlight,” he says, “but more importantly, I want to be a positive role model in the community. I’ve always felt racing is my destiny, and if I want people to look up to me, the only way to do that is to have a positive standing in the community. Since I was a little boy, I always wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, and I hope that racing can help to provide a means for that.”

Families for HoPE

Beginning in 2006, Josh began his affiliation with Families for HoPE, Inc. and has used his race cars as a way to raise awareness for Holoprosencephaly (HPE).  Today, that commitment continues as Josh serves on the organization’s board of directors.  It seems that Team Timmerman has been involved with Families for HoPE since its inception as all of the crew members have volunteered countless hours for the organization.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana

As a child, Josh said that he always wanted to have a brother.  In 2012, Josh fulfilled that wish when he volunteered for the mentoring organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana.  Big Brother Josh spends time weekly with Little Brother Alex.  Some of their activities have included building rockets, playing chess, racing in a pinewood derby, bowling, video games, sledding, and attending sporting events.

Other organizations and activities supported by Team Timmerman:

Operation Christmas Child
Wheeler Mission for Homeless Women and Men
Wheeler Mission Drumstick Dash
Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center
